Blue Ridge Parkway and Canal Parkway
Satisfying the needs of the National Park Service demands quality and an aesthetic sensibility. Providing structural retaining walls to match granite bridges that meet the NPS’s exacting standards and saving the Federal Government millions of dollars in the process is the type of project that Hunt Valley Contractors, Inc. loves to tackle. When a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway in near Boone, NC was reconstructed in 2003 the choice of custom form liners for the concrete walls was used to create a match for the nearby granite bridges. Likewise the Canal Parkway in Maryland required molding off of existing, historic stone walls along the C & O Canal and creating beautiful new walls along the canal and the roadway. The results are stunning, in both looks and cost savings. |
